The AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR is a telephoto zoom lens that can magnify and make subjects from far away appear bigger in photo. This fast zoom lens from Nikon is a great companion to the D750 as it unleashes the camera’s high-resolution imaging potential. With its clarity and excellent image quality, as well as its short minimum focusing distance, this lens greatly expands the number of ways you can use a telephoto lens. FL: 82mm / Aperture-priority Auto (f/2.8, 1/1250 sec, EV +0.7)/ ISO 100 / WB: Direct sunlight
The focal length at the wide-angle end provides a handy angle-of-view for capturing impressive shots of the subjects that catch your attention. As expected from a lens with such a large maximum aperture, the depiction of the bokeh is very natural and soft. This lens is great because it makes your subject of interest stand out.
FL: 200mm / Aperture-priority Auto (f/2.8, 1/100 sec, EV -0.7)/ ISO 100 / WB: Auto 1
The minimum focusing distance of 1.1m and maximum reproduction ratio of 0.21x give this lens a big advantage. I was fortunate enough to be able to capture, from some distance away, this close up photo of a bird which had an impressive crest on its head, using a focal length of 200mm. This shot was taken at maximum aperture, and both the resolving power and colour reproduction were superb.
The AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR is a new-generation bright telephoto zoom lens that boasts an optical system that enables smoother operability and better portability. In addition to the suitably arranged special lenses, such as the ED lens elements, a fluorite lens element has been newly employed, as indicated by the "FL" in the lens name. Thanks to that, during my test shoot, I was able to experience for myself the dramatically improved resolution performance through the entire zoom range.
The lens employs Nano Crystal Coat, which has a major benefit of enabling you to always obtain clear images in various shooting conditions such as backlit scenes, thus effectively minimizing flare and ghost effects. Furthemore, Nikon has succeeded in making this lens 110g lighter than its predecessor, the AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II. The lens is designed with its centre of gravity toward the rear, so that the front end is not heavy, with careful consideration given to the balance when attached to the camera.
It matches comfortably with the D750, which features the lightest body among Nikon FX-format models, and dramatically expands the handheld shooting range when used in combination with the powerful Vibration Reduction (VR) function that boasts an effect equivalent to 4 shutter speed stops. With the AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR, you can enjoy photographing moving subjects, such as wild animals and athletes, at the telephoto end with improved mobility.
