The AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VR gives you the freedom to shoot everything from wide-angles, close-ups and everything in between with a single lens. Coupled with the Nikon D750, it makes a great travel and walk-around lens, which enables you to mix things up with your composition and help you capture images that astound. I shot this image at a slow shutter speed of 2 second by holding and placing the camera on the railing. Nikon’s second-generation Vibration Reduction system helped to counter-balance any movement on the railing caused by the passing vehicles and delivered an outstandingly sharp image. Nano Crystal coat also greatly reduced the effects of ghosting and flares from the street and vehicle head lights.

One of the main attractions of this AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VR lens is its immensely useful and versatile focal range that goes from wide angle to medium telephoto. Shooting at 120mm focal length, I managed to capture the vibrant coloured tents of the Rot Fai Market in Bangkok from a nearby multi-storey car park. This versatile lens did a beautiful job creating sharp images.
I have been using the AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VR with my Nikon D750 for a number of years. It balances well on the Nikon D750 body and does not cause any strain on my body even when used for an entire day.
With a stabilized 5x zoom range, the constant aperture of the AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VR makes it a very convenient and versatile “everyday lens,” suitable for travel, street, landscape and even for portrait photography. At a 24mm focal length, it lets you capture epic scenes of city skylines and street shots where you want to provide a sense of the scene. On the other end of the spectrum, the 120mm end gives you enough reach and working distance for portraits and allows you to get close-up perspectives on your subjects.
Despite its compact dimensions, the lens is equipped with Nikon’s Vibration Reduction (VR II) technology, which enables you to take sharper handheld images at slower shutter speeds. The presence of vibration reduction also gives the lens greater usability, especially in low light situations.
Lens flare and ghosting are other reasons your images will have lack of contrast and richness of color. To suppress this, the AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VR has Nano Crystal Coating along with Super Integrated Coating applied to the lens elements.
Autofocusing on this lens is fast and nearly silent thanks to the Silent Wave Motor. This, combined with the immensely useful focal range, a constant maximum aperture of f/4, well-implemented Vibration Reduction system, and good build quality, makes the AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VR one of the most versatile lenses in the Nikon line-up.
If you are a FX-format shooter looking for a high-performance one-lens solution for many shooting situations, this is definitely one lens you should consider.
