“The Nikon Z mount system is all about potential – combining technology and creativity to the next level to achieve great imaging possibilities. The NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S packs a punch with the employment of the newly developed Nikon original Short-wavelength Refractive (SR) lens and improved multi-focusing system[1]. Photographers and videographers can look forward to the sharp resolution with minimal colour fringing that the NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S offers,” said Reiji Miyagi, General Manager of International Business Division, Imaging Group, Nikon Singapore Pte. Ltd.

Overwhelmingly High Performance, Even in Low Light

With a constant f/2.8 aperture, which offers overwhelming rendering performance for both stills and movies. Nikon crafted the lens by incorporating various lenses that realize high aberration-correction performance with its original and newly developed Short-wavelength Refractive (SR) technology. As such, the lens is able to have high- and specialized-dispersion glass featuring characteristics to greatly refract light with wavelength shorter than that of blue. Highly precise chromatic aberration compensation is realized by controlling short-wavelength light that is difficult to compensate. On top of that, the lens is equipped with superior Vibration Reduction (VR) effect, which is equivalent to a shutter speed 5.5 stops[2] faster – the top class in the history of NIKKOR lenses.

The lens is also fitted with a multi-focusing system[1], axial chromatic aberration is effectively compensated across the shooting range from close distances to infinity, which contributes to delivering sharp resolution with minimal color fringing at the front and rear of the focal plane. The multi-focusing system1 ensures that delivers superior imaging performance can be achieved even at a short distance.

The large aperture and the telephoto reach of the lens delivers dreamy quality and works well in low light conditions.

Get Up Close and Personal with this Telephoto Lens

Photographers can approach subjects with the NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S that supports the’s extremely shortest[3] minimum focus distance of 0.5m at the wide-angle end and 1.0m at the telephoto end. Despite being a telephoto lens, you are still able to get up close and personal and enjoy image expression utilizing natural bokeh.

Equipped with the Nano Crystal Coat and ARNEO Coat for superb tolerance for backlight, the lens allows photographers to effectively control ghost and flare effects for clear images. Bring out the best of the NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S lens by attaching it to the Z series.

Superior Operability and Top Video Quality

Enjoy shooting high-resolution stills and movies with the NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S. Realise your creative pursuits with enhanced movie usability and the same comfortable operability as with still-image shooting. Record movies more smoothly, with the focus-breathing reduction that reduces shifting of the angle of view when adjusting and enables easier focus stacking to facilitate amazing landscape shoots. The lens also offers quiet operation thanks to the stepping motor, while varifocal support and stable aperture control delivers natural exposure changes to movies.

The NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S also has a lens informational panel which enables quick confirmation of aperture, focus distance and depth of field. Designed with two Fn buttons on the lens body, the lens gives you the flexibility to adapt to a variety of shooting postures, and the functions can be used to improve shooting. The lens also has a convenient control ring for aperture, exposure compensation and ISO sensitivity in a smooth and quiet manner. All this combined makes it a great lens for photographers that seek nothing but the best in their shoots.

For Those Always on the Move

The NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S boasts superior portability and reliability with its lightweight and robust body at approximately 1440g. The lens is meticulously designed to offer durability as the front lens is given a fluorine coat treatment while the other parts of the lens, including the movable parts of the lens barrel are sealed with dust- and drip-resistant capabilities. Carry it everywhere with you and never miss the action.

The lens also comes fitted with an electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism. Thanks to a diaphragm blade unit with driving mechanism employed on the lens body, the camera can accurately control aperture via electronic signals. This means that the lens can deliver stable AE constantly, even during continuous shooting.
