Nikon releases the beta version of mac OS-compatible Webcam Utility
The software enables Nikon cameras, both mirrorless and DSLR, to function as high-quality cameras for web conferences and livestreams with macOS
SINGAPORE – Nikon Corporation is in plans to release the beta version of the macOS-compatible Webcam Utility, the software that enables Nikon mirrorless and DSLR cameras to be used as alternatives for excellent quality webcams, free of charge, on September 23, 2020.
In response to the increased usage for quality in video conferencing as telecommuting becomes more common, Webcam Utility will be released to make it possible for users to utilise their existing Nikon cameras as an alternative to the common webcam.
Users simply need to install the Webcam Utility to their computer and connect a compatible Nikon mirrorless or DSLR camera to the computer via a USB cable.

- Z 7, Z 6, Z 5, Z 50, D6, D850, D780, D500, D7500, D5600
- Compatibility with this new software application is also planned for future Nikon mirrorless and DSLR cameras.
