N-Log 3D LUT for the D780 released

Further expanded control for filmmakers and videographers

SINGAPORE – N-Log 3D LUT for the latest Nikon D780 is now made available in the Nikon Download Centre, as announced by Nikon Singapore Pte. Ltd. today.

The versatile DSLR with cutting-edge technology increases the workflow efficiency for professional productions as shooting in 10-bit N-Log* with the D780 preserves the details in highlights and shadows to provide greater colour creative control in final video outputs.

The N-Log, Nikon’s very own logarithmic gamma curve, takes full advantage of the camera sensor’s dynamic range to provide exceptional flexibility over the video output’s exposure and look. LUT, also known as a lookup table, contains the preselected values used in movie colour-correction to map colours from the original input footage to the desired colours in the final output. Colour correction is performed by looking up input colours and assigning them new RGB values based on the data in the table. Each combined RGB value maps to a single combined value in the table to enable an accurate colour regeneration with the correct saturation or hue.

More information on how to install the N-Log 3D LUT is available via the Technical Guide, also available in the Download Centre.
