Please be informed that the offer of free servicing to replace the failed electronic component has expired on 30 September 2011. Requests to address this issue received on or after 1 October 2011 will be handled in accordance with standard Nikon repair policies.

It has come to our attention that an electronic component related to autofocus in some Nikon F55 Film SLR cameras may, on rare occasions fail.

Should you experience this problem with your F55 camera, Nikon will replace the affected component free of charge even if the warranty of your camera has already expired. Please see the following for more details.

• The autofocus fails and camera is unable to focus automatically.

In addition to repairing this problem free of charge, Nikon will also reimburse the cost of repairs to those users who have previously paid to have this problem corrected.
