This photo of the Tower Bridge in London was taken during the blue hour, where I intended to capture long light trails to show the dynamic phase of the city, but traffic was not as smooth as I had hoped. Nevertheless the image captures the true feel of this famous bridge. The NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S shows excellent sharpness across the frame to the edges and corners, and I found that distortion is practically non-existent. This lens has incredible performance for its size.

The telephoto end of the lens helps to create a unique compression perspective in landscape photography. This photo was taken at St. Moritz, Switzerland during the blue hour. The long focal length of 70mm allowed me to capture the greatness of the gigantic mountains surrounding the city. Shot wide open at f/4, this image shows the exceptional resolving power of this lens when combined with the high-resolution Z 7.
With the high mobility as a world traveller it is essential for me to carry camera gear that is light and versatile. I was very excited when Nikon announced the Z series FX-format mirrorless cameras, and I am currently using the Nikon Z 7 for my work.
Weighing in at approximately 500g, the NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S lens is a very compact standard zoom lens, and together with the Nikon Z 7—which weighs approximately 675g—they are a light-weight combination of exceptional performance. The lens delivers excellent sharpness, and is able to fully utilize the 45.7 megapixel resolution of the Nikon Z 7 to resolve even the tiniest details of subjects. The standard zoom range of 24-70mm provides enough versatility to satisfy travel photographers like myself, with the focal length ranging from wide-angle to a short telephoto, suitable for a variety of subjects.
The NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S lens—the first zoom lens for the Z system—answers my need for versatility, compactness, and high image quality. The widest aperture of f/4 might be a concern for some, however thanks to the powerful in-camera 5-axis VR image stabilization which provides up to 5 stops of optical stabilization on the Z series cameras, this lens is excellent for shooting hand-held in low light situations. I find this useful when I want document my travels, apart from my main usage of this lens which is to capture long exposure landscapes utilizing a tripod.
For anybody planning to travel and wanting to capture stunning images of scenery without having to carry heavy gear, look no further than the versatile NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S coupled with the compact Nikon Z 7.
